Career Management

NABS has a team of industry Careers Coaches who are able to offer advice to people at all levels of experience and from any discipline.  The support offered includes:

Career Coaching

One-to-one coaching and mentoring for those who have recently been made redundant, who are at a career crossroads or are new to the industry. We provide practical and emotional support either in a one off session or over a programme of sessions.

Career Development

A menu of practical and newly developed handouts to enable clients to take control, regain confidence and independence – ‘Where to begin after redundancy’, ‘CV Development’, ‘How to present yourself’, ‘Networking Top Tips’,’ Useful Contacts’ etc.

Career Workshops

Our first series of peer-to-peer monthly workshops covered a variety of useful career topics, including presentation and selling skills, CV writing, tendering for public sector clients and transferring your skills to digital.  We work in partnership with presentation skills specialists Speakers Corner.

Portfolio Critiques and Creative Placements

We arrange Creative portfolio critiques for graduates and more experienced creatives with some of the industry's leading creative talent.  NABS is also able to offer support and advice to Graduates searching for placements within Agencies.

Lonely Hearts Book Club

Run in association with The Talent Business, this monthly half day session offers networking opportunities and introductions for any Art Directors and Copywriters searching for a ‘partner'  This scheme has traditionally been targeted at people starting out in the industry or in the first years of their creative careers.  We have recently launched a Senior Book Club for more experienced Copywriters and Art Directors.  You can find out the dates for Junior and Senior "book clubs" here..

NABS Resource Centre

We have a dedicated Resource centre that gives free access to MACs and PCs, relevant industry publications and access to databases such as FileFX.  Anybody wanting to use the facilities must first meet with one of our Careers Coaches. As the space is limited, anybody wanting to book some time must call NABS on 020 7462 3150 to reserve a slot.
