Career Management
Most of us were not taught how to manage our careers at school.
Career Management at NABS takes the form of a review of your past, identifying your talents and understanding how they have developed, together with an understanding of your values and how they have affected your decision making.
Once you know who you are, you can then move on to understanding how to:
- Talk about yourself and what you want
- Develop a CV that makes sense
- Identify the right opportunities
- Learn how to network effectively
- …and practise and hone your interviewing skills
Mentoring
NABS has a range of highly experienced Mentors from different functions within the Marketing Communications Industry. They support the Consultancy team when individuals need help to identify their potential within the industry and what they should be doing to realise it.
Call the helpline on 0845 602 4497 for an initial assessment of your needs and an appropriate person will be identified.
Outplacement
NABS knows how isolated and lonely it can be when you have lost your job.
The ‘outplacement’ service is there to assist you to support you while you find the most appropriate new role. After an initial assessment of your needs a Careers Coach who best suits you will be assigned. He or she will support you during the period of your job search.
You can expect to reassess your talents and skills, and develop the most effective way of presenting yourself, for example in terms of your CV and your interviewing style.
Call the helpline on 0845 602 4497 for more information and for an initial assessment of your needs.

We have a manual available to people going through transition that covers all the things you need to know for effective job search.
The Resource Centre
The NABS office also has a dedicated resources centre that gives free access to both Mac and PCs, all relevant industry publications and access to databases such as FileFX.
Impartial Advice
You can also use the helpline to gain impartial advice and support on the legal issues with regards to redundancy, TUPE and also personal support and guidance in relation to such things as bullying and harassment.
