horsesmouth is a new website offering informal e-mentoring.  We think that the siteis a fantastic idea.  Launched in January, it offers an anonymous mentoring service that is open to absolutely anybody.  There are times when we all need a bit of advice about a career or personal issue or maybe just to talk to somebody with whom you have a shared experience.

You can sign up to seek advice or to be a Mentor yourself – and use your own life experience to help others.  Mentors are people of all ages and at all levels in their professional lives. Users can mentor each other on just about any topic. Anybody seeking advice on how to land their dream job, deal with a health issue or start a business needs only to type in a few words into the site’s search engine to be presented with a list of other users who have been through the same experience and are willing to share it.  Your anonymity is guaranteed.  Profiles do not contain photographs or real names

horsesmouth is the brainchild of advertising entrepreneur and prominent media industry figure MT (Mary Teresa) Rainey, who co-founded the top five advertising agency Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R.  Due to MT’s media background, the site already has attracted Mentors from within the industry, as well as other fields.

NABS has signed up as a “Partner” organization, which means that you can access our resources and contact our Mentors.  Supporting and advising people is at the core of what we do, and involvement with horsesmouth enables us to do that in a more flexible way.
